Shakira Makes My Hips Tell the Truth
Today was another long day. I didn't get home until almost 9 and I've been away from home for more than 12 hours. I see why I've had a hard time working out. By the time I get home I'm starving, barely say hi to the hubby, and my dog is waiting for me to pet her. There is no way I'm going back out to the gym or was stopping on the way home. I need to be in front of the TV with my feet up. But this pattern is exactly how I got to where I am now. Over 200lbs and needing to lose weight. Usually while watching TV I multi-task watching other videos and looking up random stuff on the internet. So I decided to turn the pitfalls that got me to this point to my advantage. I looked up a few workouts on Pinterest and decided to do them watching music videos and TV on my computer.
The most motivational videos have been Shakira's. I remember the first time my college roommate and I watched "Whenever, Wherever", our mouths dropped. It was such a simple video of her just dancing by herself and we couldn't take our eyes off of her. Video after video she came out with she figured out a new way (at least new to me) to move her body. So tonight I said ok I'm going to watch her as inspiration. I mean she's as old as me and looks the same as she did when I watched her college. I mean really, look at her:
WTF, that just ain't right. I can't even get my body to do one body roll right and she is doing this?!
I pretty much love all her videos but "Chantaje" is definitely my favorite. Even if she is walking a pig into a deli. That just seems wrong. But Maluma's presence definitely makes up for it. Ok, now I have to get back to working on my body rolls.
