Where My Girls At? Whatta Man!
Yesterday I talked about the results of my bloodwork tests and found out I was pre-diabetic. I emailed all my girlfriends and told them about my diagnosis. I was scared of their reaction but so many people were so supportive. Many of them invited me to workouts, told me we are in this together, sent me videos, and reminded me of what I needed to do. I was even grateful for the response from my Liz Lemon friend, "Not good." I moved from my home base from LA to the Bay Area a few years ago so I felt thankful I had so many people around me I could reach out to.
As for my husband, his first response was "Oh, no", which is what I expected. Last night I cried in bed and he just held me because he didn't know what else to say. The next evening he cooked me up a nice meal and said, "Butternut squash are now your french fries."
I remembered he is a man of few words but plenty of good deeds. He is now ready to join me on my journey and I'm grateful for his support.
